How long does waxing last?

how long does waxing last

One of the best things about waxing is how little you have to have it done. Unlike shaving which needs doing every few days or so, you can go weeks and weeks between waxing. And like we always say, the more regularly you wax, the less hair re-growth you’ll see. The more you wax, the less you’ll need to wax, if that makes sense?!

After your first wax the results can last 3 to 6 weeks. This is all dependant on your individual hair re-growth rate. If you got an itimate wax, a leg wax and tummy wax all on the same day, it doesn’t mean it will all grow back at the same rate. Finer, lighter hairs will be much less noticeable whereas thicker, darker and corser hair, like pubic hair may start to become visible again after 2-3 weeks. Generally speaking, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week.

Hair re-growth cylce

To go into more detail there are three stages of hair growth; growing, resting and transitional. 80% of the time hair is growing. The rest of the time it is either resting or in the transitional phase.

It’s worth remembering that growing can include under the skin, before it reaches the surface. If you wax at this time (and some hair will always be at this stage, as it doesn’t all grow together), these hairs won’t have been removed. In approximately 2 weeks time they will have broken through the skin’s surface and this is the re-growth that you will notice.

Theoretically if you repeatedly got waxed every 2-3 weeks all hair would be removed at the root and you can go longer between waxes.
